Prism puts the manuscript and the model together

OpenAI announced Prism, a research workspace combining a LaTeX document with GPT-5.2. The proposed uses include drafting, discussing, and collaborating on scientific manuscripts without continually copying fragments into a separate chat. The document becomes the shared context for the interaction.

Context

Scientific writing depends on consistent notation, connected arguments, and accurate references. An assistant can help explain or revise a passage, but citations and conclusions still need verification. A more convenient workspace reduces friction; it does not make an unfinished argument or an unverified reference scientifically sound.
