North Automations connects isolated agents into workflows

Cohere launched North Automations, describing a way to coordinate work across systems and teams. The announcement addresses fragmented agents, governance, and the cost of using the same model at every stage of a process.

Context

The difficult part of a workflow is often the handoff. One component’s plausible answer must become another component’s reliable input. Orchestration helps when it makes state, responsibility, and failure recovery explicit. The value should be measured at the end of the process, rather than by counting how many agents participated.
