AI education becomes an infrastructure question

OpenAI introduced Edu for Countries, an initiative to work with governments on education and workforce preparation. The proposal moves beyond giving an individual student a chatbot toward adoption across institutions, with an emphasis on preparing people for changes in work.

Context

Access and learning are different outcomes. A useful evaluation asks whether students understand the material, can solve problems without assistance, and receive better support from teachers. Counting accounts is easier, but it does not answer those questions. Institution-wide programs need measures of learning alongside measures of adoption.
