The January Economic Index analyzes Claude interactions from November 2025. Anthropic added measures covering task complexity, required skills, autonomy, and success, while separating personal, educational, and work-related use. The report also examines differences across locations.

Context

A job contains many activities, so task-level evidence is more informative than a simple replacement prediction. The sample still reflects users of a particular service, rather than the entire labor market. It can reveal patterns worth investigating without supporting precise claims about how many jobs will disappear or what every occupation will become.
